Since the mid-90s, the international conference PhysiсA.SPb has been held in St. Petersburg. Over the past few years, the conference has attracted approximately 400 participants from different parts of Russia and around the globe. The event typically draws scientists from universities and research institutions, along with students and postgraduates engaged in research across a range of physics and astronomy disciplines.

The Program Committee of the Conference pays great attention not only to the fundamental, but also to the applied significance of the presented reports, which allows for bringing together a wide range of physical sciences, such as astrophysics, plasma physics, solid-state physics, semiconductor physics, and biophysics within the framework of a single conference.

The main purpose of the Conference is to develop regional and international scientific cooperation, to create conditions for the exchange of ideas and research findings, to systematize pressing challenges, address pressing issues, identify trends in scientific research development, and publish reviewed papers in the international science journals.

From 2012 to 2023, the conference PhysicA.SPb's extended abstracts in English were published in the Journal of Physics: Conference Series (IOP Publishing).

Since 2023, the extended abstracts of the conference PhysicA.SPb, in the form of articles of up to 6 pages, have undergo a standard review process before being published in special issues of journals published by the Ioffe Institute: Journal of Technical Physics, Optics and Spectroscopy, Solid State Physics, Physics and Technology of Semiconductors and Letters to the Journal of Technical Physics. The translations of peer-reviewed articles are published in the English versions of FTI journals: Technical Physics, Optics and Spectroscopy, Physics of the Solid State, Semiconductors, Technical Physics Letters.

The working languages of the PhysicA.SPb Conference are Russian and English.
